M.A.D.D.
Make a Difference Day
“Make A Difference Day is the most encompassing national day of helping others. Held annually on the fourth Saturday of October, millions of Americans are rallied into a single day of action to help change the world. Everyone can participate. Find a need in your community and use the power of Make A Difference Day to mobilize your family, your neighbors, even your entire town into a day of action”
The Valley Quilt Guild has participated in M.A.D.D. most years for the past 10+ years. A topic is chosen, this year it is baby quilts. A location is chosen, this year it will be held a Friday Night Live. This years goal is for 150 baby quilts. This number was chosen because at the end of last fiscal year, there were over 180 guild members. It is a day for sewing. Valley Quilt Guild members and members from other guilds, friends and family members, get together to sew quilts to be donated to our community to non profit charitable organizations. For those who are unable to attend, quilts will be accepted at the general meetings through and including October 26 general meeting. Please notify us that the quilt is for M.A.D.D. These quilts go to the same organizations that Community Service usually donates to. The quilts will be donated at the Christmas Party.
